Mixed results over the last few days plus planned improvements

Mixed performance for many
We're aware of performance problems that have an impact on both customers close to the mast and those further away with poorer signal. The performance issues are causing slower upload and download speeds for many, along with increased ping times.

What caused it
The cause of the problem relates to the way that wireless networks perform. Roughly speaking it's essential that we maximise your signal level and balance the connections around our mast. This is currently not happening the way we'd like. The uplink to the Internet is not congested in any way, nor is it causing any impact upon performance.

What we're doing about it
We've found the cause of the problem, and can confirm it is isolated to the link between your homes and our mast. To make our life easier we're adding a temporary device to the mast until we are able to install some kit on the church tower. This device will ensure we can get the most out of the network over the next 6-8 weeks.

We found this problem during the evening on Friday 31st July and have ordered this equipment to reduce the impact of it. Due to the weekend the equipment is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and we hope to have it configured and on our mast by Wednesday this week.

Future enhancements and improvements
We're optimistic that we'll be able to mount some equipment onto the tower at St Helens Church within the next 6-8 weeks. At this time we anticipate all of these performance issues will be no more. Until we do this you may still experience mixed results in performance, but rest assured we are doing everything we can to make the network the best it can possibly be!

It's also worth noting that we couldn't have replicated this in a lab. It's only when we get physical connections out on your homes that these problems arise. We appreciate your patience over the next couple of days.
