Power Outage 28 Sept: Bole Hill Area

Failed Power to Relay Site at 11:00 28th September 2017

At approximately 11:00 a power failure occurred affecting parts of Treeton. Our relay site at Bole Hill is included in this outage and has been without power since this time.

What is affected?

Our site at Bole Hill has a battery backup in place that has been active from 11:00. At the time of writing we are 40 minutes into battery backup and approximately a further 30 minutes of runtime is remaining for this relay site. If the power is not restored before the battery runs out, then customers around Bole Hill, Worral Avenue and Well Lane will lose connectivity.

What is being done?

Updates on the status of the power can be found at: https://www.northernpowergrid.com/power-cuts-checker/S60%205RA

We have a spare UPS (Battery) in Treeton and will consider swapping this with the one at the relay site on Bole Hill if power is not restored swiftly.

We'll provide updates on this as we find out more.

We have let Northern Power know and they are aware of the issue: INCD-510974-h

The Bole Hill repeater will have power for approximately 30 minutes from now.

Northern Power is estimating a return of power by 12:45pm.  This may mean a short interruption in services for some customers.  We apologise for any inconvenience.

UPDATE 12:15:  Power is back online at our repeater site but the overall power outage continues for some parts of Treeton.  We will continue to monitor.

UPDATE 30/09/17:  After more than 48 hours with no repeat we are closing the issue.  We will continue to monitor Northern Powers notifications due to repeat problems on the same part of their power grid.
